What is HARRT?
HARRT is a multi-dimensional organization that focuses on educational and safety consulting and community service. HARRT was established in the Spring of 2000 by Kevin Shinn a Huntsville High School teacher and firefighter. HARRT is associated with the American Red Cross Rapid Response Team Project. Since that time, hundreds of high school students have received CPR, AED, and 1st Aid certification as well as nearly 120 members have received First Responder certifications. A dozen members have received their SAR Tech III training and certification, while dozens have been involved in area missing person's searches. Each year since its inception, HARRT members have staffed the American Red Cross Emergency Medical stations at Razorback football games, and nearly two dozen members have been nationally certified as Red Cross Sports Trainers. Additionally, our team has developed and staffed the emergency plan for Huntsville High School and continues to participate in numerous community events.
